The Park of East Texas Hiring President & CEO

For Immediate Release November 7, 2023

The Park of East Texas, located in Tyler, Texas is a 501 (c) 3 corporation. The company manages three different events which are the East Texas State Fair, Academic Rodeo and off-season rentals. The East Texas State Fair is the major fundraiser for the company that requires unique and exceptional organizational skills. The Fair is one of the largest regional events in Texas hosting several highly respected competitions including a junior and open livestock show, arts and crafts, horticulture show, public speaking contest, photography show, Plant ID contest, and landscape competition. The Fair also has an extensive concessionaire lineup, commercial exhibits and a highly respected carnival. All require special contracts. In addition, Ag-Venture is the Fair’s commitment to agriculture education. TAFE Hires New Executive Director, Darlene Lively

TAFE Board and Members, we are pleased to announce, Darlene Lively as the New Executive Director of the Texas Association of Fairs & Events. Darlene was selected in a tough competition to find the best fair industry candidate for this demanding position and to assist TAFE as we move forward into a changing future.

Nominations for the TAF&E Board of Directors

The TAF&E is currently accepting nominations for the TAF&E Board of Directors. Nominations will be considered by the nominating committee for future service to the TAF&E Board of Directors.

The Center for Disease Control recently released some Considerations for Animal Activities at Fairs, Shows & Other Events. As your event makes it's plans these considerations might assist.

The International Association of Fairs and Expositions has assembled a number of tools and materials for fairs/events to utilize in making decisions and implementing their events.
